Hugh Burn dies

Hugh served as Secretary at a critical period for the Trust and it is no exageration to say that he was instrumental in saving it when it was without a chairman, He introduced Major John Page who proved an inspirational chairman, reviving the fortunes of the Trust.Hugh Burn

Hugh was passionate about Devizes having been born in the town in 1921 where he lived with his parents at 37 Market Place with his two older brothers. His father was a jeweller, watchmaker and optician trading as Leon V Burn.

 

Hugh died on 23 February and is survived by his wife, Hilary, four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildern.
