Proposed residential development in Northgate Street

Members of the Trust for Devizes are invited to attend an exhibition relating to a proposal for residential development on land at the corner of Northgate Street/ New Park Street (Gaiger’s car park), Devizes.
The event will be held at Devizes Rugby Club, London Road, Devizes, SN10 2DL on Monday 14th March 2016 between 3.00pm and 7.00pm.
The site comprises the existing Gaiger’s corner car park which lies opposite the Wadworth’s brewery building and includes the existing warehouse and workshop buildings. The existing site measures some 0.14 hectares and has been under-utilised for many years, since previous buildings were demolished on the site back in the 1980’s.
Gaiger Bros Ltd have recently secured the Wadworth’s warehouse site in Northgate Street, known as Kennet House, and will be moving their operations to this new base. The proposal is to develop the car park site to provide 19 residential flats together with associated parking. A separate planning application will also be submitted to the Council to change the use of number 6 Northgate Street (currently Gaiger’s registered office) to form four residential flats.
The intention is to submit a full planning application to Wiltshire Council for the residential development of the car park site, which will supported by full drawings and visualisations.
Members are invited to call in at any time between the hours above to view the plans and discuss the proposal with the applicants/ architects/ planning agents. There will also be an opportunity to leave written comments should you wish to do so.
In due course a planning application will be submitted.
