Unfortunately those remarks were linked with his having been chairman of the Trust. At their meeting last evening the Trustees unanimously confirmed their view that this fine building should not be demolished.  In doing so, they echoed the views of the Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust who are quoted in the Gazette and Herald as saying " We consider this building to be outstanding and of significance and merit to both town and county."

The current planning permission is due to expire shortly and the Trust will continue to press for a postive outcome.
