Wharf plans include possible move for Wiltshire Museum

Posted by Philippa Morgan on 27 September 2016

The plans for developing the area around Devizes Wharf were discussed at the Devizes Community Area Board meeting on September 26th. Wiltshire Council's planning team is putting together a strategy for developing the Wharf area which will extend from Wadworth's Brewery to the Devizes Hospital site.

Witshire Council has been working with the Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust on plans to revitalise the Wharf are which include the use of the Assize Courts to house the Wiltshire Museum. The proposal, which was outlined at the meeting, will involve relocation for the Museum from Long Street to the re-vamped Assize Courts.
